Plans for a Rayleigh heritage trail are under way!....

The heritage trail is to be known as "Rayleigh through the Looking Glass" Artist Lisa Hawker is working with The Foundation for Essex Arts to create a 40m long artwork along Crown Hill. Click here for more information.

Creative Classes at the Basildon Eastgate Gallery planned for February half-term. Carole Nowell, a regular volunteer behind the desk in the gallery is planning these classes for ages 6 to 12 year olds, all coaches will be CRB approved to work with young people. We need to get the details out to everyone, so please click here and print out the poster for your notice boards.

Basildon Borough Art Trail 2012

The first meeting for this years Basildon A127 art trail is planned for Sunday the 12th february at 2pm in the art gallery Basildon Eastgate (bea) where we will discuss the plans and seek volunteers. Dates for the 2012 trail are Sept 9th to 18th. (( The First Basildon District Art Trail,held last September, was a spectacular success!))

 

 

Heritage Trail ' Our Basildon' 

To celebrate Our Heritage the Basildon Heritage Trail was created and opened in April 2009.

The 12 Km Heritage Trail celebrates our urban heritage and the rich diversity of wildlife in the open spaces around 'Our Town'. Click here to find out more.

 

The Foundation for Essex Arts….a Fusion of the Arts.

The Objectives. To promote for the public benefit the advancement and development of the arts in Essex.

To advance the education and appreciation of the public in the arts including the arts of painting, sculpture, public art, photography, drama, dance, music, singing, architecture and literature."

Heritage Hub Basildon

The amazingly successful Hub has now closed. People loved sharing their experiences and photos of Basildon these and their childhood memories have been saved for future "Basidonians"

Heritage lost? Basildon Swimming Pool Demolished..  The Pool as many are aware has been demolished and homes are being build. People will make up their own minds about their heritage and what they think about the replacement buildings.

Basildon Borough Art Trail 2012

 REMINDER EASTGATE SHOPPING CENTRE ART GALLERY. The Basildon
Eastgate Art Gallery are currently looking for local artists to exhibit their artwork. No hanging fee and no commission asked. So far, in the 6 months its been open, we have had over 30,000 visitors. If you know another other local artists, please let them know. All that is asked for in return is that each exhibiting artist volunteers a minimum of two 2 hours sessions in the gallery per week for the month they are exhibiting.

To apply to exhibit in the gallery simply collect an application form from the gallery, fill it in and return it back to the gallery along with 3 photographic examples of your artwork. The gallery can be found on the first floor of the shopping centre, next to the lift. It is open 7 days a week, from 10am until 4pm.

Essex Art Lottery - We want everyone to ‘get involved’ and to help our cause we are offering all Ambassadors the opportunity to win an original work of art, with draws every year starting with a Summer Draw for this original oil on paper, by Morris Dixon a very talented Essex Artist (Size 74 x 59cm). 

We are a ‘ not for profit' organisation seeking to achieve an iconic building for Essex people, suitable for all forms of contemporary art. The iconic building will itself be an attraction for all people and all cultures.
